National Identity Fraud Prevention Week is designed to help individuals and businesses across Ireland understand the threat of identity fraud and the steps that they could and should be taking to protect themselves. The campaign is supported by:

The Irish Fraud Bureau (IFB) is dedicated to the prevention of financial crime, providing a range of advisory and practical fraud prevention services to its members. Fraud costs the private sector more than €300 million annually and, in a bid to combat the problem, the bureau was launched in 2007. The IFB, which is a collaboration between the financial institutions and consumer credit information provider BusinessPro, alms to prevent financial crime and protect consumers.
Members of the bureau are encouraged to exchange data on cases where fraud has been detected and individuals who have either fallen victim to fraud or are at risk of identity fraud can record their own protective registrations.
